James B. Ragland, MD
Brightside specialty clinic is pleased to welcome Dr. James B. Ragland, MD, FAAN to our medical staff and to offer Neurology services to our community. He will see patients at the clinic beginning mid-Feb. 2026.
Dr. Ragland received his MBBS Degree from the University of Madras, Madras Medical College in Madras, India. He completed two years of residency training in Psychiatry followed by three years of Neurology Residency at the Elliot Neurological Center at Pennsylvania Hospital, affiliated with the University of Pennsylvania. He served as Chief Resident in Neurology during his 5th post graduate year.
He had served as a staff neurologist and independent practice neurologist in Bismarck, ND for about 28 years and now has returned to his home state. He had worked in other states in the last 10 years and brings with him vast clinical experience.
Dr. Ragland has had teaching appointments at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine in Bismarck. He is Board certified in Neurology and Epilepsy. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology, a Fellow of the American Association of Electrodiagnostic Medicine, a member of the American Epilepsy Society.
His neurology practice will be multi-faceted and include treatment of headaches, tremors, epilepsy, neuropathy and memory issues.
He is married and has two grown sons. He is dedicated to physical fitness and enjoys playing chess and reading English literature.
